What is Interact? - Overfelt Interact Interpretation: Interact (International Action) is a social service club that stretches from Oakland to Santa Cruz to Gilroy. Interact merges social activities into community service hosted locally by each club, as well as district wide events inviting all high school students across the Bay Area. Although our main focus is service, we still have events that solely focus on having fun and socializing not only within home clubs, but also the entire area and even district. As for the service aspect, we have a monetary goal each year to raise money for an international and community project. All of the funds you give towards our various social and service events, go straight back into your community.
SERVICE FRIENDSHIP LOVE - District 5170 Interact Interpretation: Interact is an international organization of service that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, and promotes international understanding and peace. Interact is a club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with others in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. The name “Interact” was created by combining the words “international” and “action.” Interact clubs are sponsored by Rotary clubs and Interact clubs organize at least two service projects a year: one that benefits their community and one that encourages international understanding. While Interact clubs receive guidance from individual Rotary clubs, they govern and support themselves and are included in Rotary International’s “Youth Services” Avenue of Service.
